MY PERSONAL JOURNEY
Reflecting back to my younger days, school was not a happy place for me. I was not academic, I sometimes lacked confidence with regard to social acceptance and body image. I was a 'lost student’ through the secondary education system and found myself finishing with basic grades that offered limited opportunities.
My acceptance into Cavan College of Further Studies, was, without doubt, the springboard to where I am today. This, along with my 3 years at Sligo Institute of Technology taught me that in order to be successful and driven to succeed I need to have a great passion for whatever I am doing. Ever since then, I have studied and worked in an industry where helping others is at the heart of what I do. With an academic background of a Sports Science with Business degree from the University of Chester, I landed my dream job as a PE teacher. I worked in London and Dubai where I taught some of the world's most vulnerable children in one country and those of great wealth in the other. However, the similarities were remarkable in that both sets of students simply needed people to believe in them. This was something I was eager to explore. In order to do this and to develop my skills further, I completed an MA in Education (Coaching and Mentoring) at the University of Middlesex Dubai. This was the beginning of my coaching journey.
